Gorillaz was formed in Essex, England, in 1998. The members are 2D, Noodle, Russel Hobs and Murdoc Niccals. All of the group’s members write songs, but most of the lyrics are written by Russel Hobs.
In 2001 Gorillaz was the first album. It has sold more than six million copies. They entered the in World Guinness Record.
Gorillaz play Brit pop, trip hop and rock music. Some of their best-known songs are ‘Feel Good Inc’, ‘Clint Eastwood’ and ‘Dare’.
In 2001 they were nominated in six categories on the MTV music awards and they won a prize for the best web, site a Webby prize.
