Mount Saint Helen's (Oregon, USA)

Here's a picture of Mount Saint Helen's in Oregon, the USA. Since we talked about this famous volcano in class and beacause I had some pictures that I took when I visited it in 2005, I thougt it might be a good idea to share them with you.
Click on this link to have a look at the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument site.
On this picture on the right you can see the logs of trees that were expelled during the volcanic eruption in 1980. These dead trees are now homes to hundreds of tenants that grow, feed and depend on them. As this fallen forest decomposes, nutrients will be slowly released, forming new soil for the forest that will follow.

This is Spirit Lake. You can still see how it was filled with ash.

The ash is now slowly receeding.
Well, I expect some kind of reaction! Participate and let me know what you think about these pictures!

I don't like natural catastrophes... I sometimes think about it and I feel... I don't know how I feel,but it isn't a agreeable feeling.

Hi!
I don't like natural catastrophes either, but they do exist!
