Hurricane Katrina (by Cristina Suárez)

Hurricane Katrina was one of the most deadly, destructive and costly hurricanes that have hit the United States in decades. He belonged to the hurricane season in the Atlantic in 2005. It was the third most powerful storm of the season and the sixth strongest hurricane since records there.
It was a large tropical cyclone that hit southern and central United States in August 2005. Produced great damage in Florida, Bahamas, Louisiana and Mississippi, including property damage and severe flooding. Made landfall on the coast of Louisiana on Aug. 29 become a Category 3 hurricane, and despite the fact that at the last moment slightly deviated from its route, directly facing the city of New Orleans, there was a great devastation in the same and in nearby areas. For damage, became one of the most devastating hurricanes in the United States in recent history, and perhaps the greatest natural disaster in the history of that country.
