Billy Talent was formed in Toronto, Canada, in 1997 by Benjamín Kowalewicz (the singer), Ian D’SA (the guitarist), Aaron Soowoniuk (the drummer) and Jonathan Gallant (the bassist). Pezz was the first name of the band but it was replaced by Billy Talent. Their songs are written by Benjamín and Aaron.
Their first album, Watoosh!, was released in 1998. Billy Talent was their second album and it was successful. They became more popular and they got an international hit. Billy Talent plays both rock and punk music. Some of their most famous songs are Nothing to lose, Red Flag and Fallen Leaves.
The video for Devil in a Midnight Mass won a prize in 2003.
